For me, First Light represented serenity and a newness in life. It had a calming effect on me.

This painting reminded me of a previous visit to Newfoundland, when I stood at the farthest eastern most point of North America, Cape Spear. I walked to the edge overlooking the rocky shoreline on a misty morning, alone. I felt totally at peace, and in awe of a presence far greater than myself. Then as the sun broke through the mist, a revelation that a rebirth was taking place, and that each day was meant to be treasured.

This talented artist paints with a love of subject and with deep emotion. In a single painting, I hear the winds in the rugged pines; I feel the serenity in the old cemetery high on a hill; I see the beauty and details in the surrounding landscape. — I am left with a feeling of wonder and intrigue, wishing to know more.

Something is very different in her art that is not in
anyone else’s

There’s something in that painting that pulls me to it –several times a day. I don’t know what it is but there’s something intriguing in it.

There are so many layers of interpretation. Multiple contrasts in one painting – rugged landscape / peaceful cemetery – full of feeling, so believable, I feel that I’ve been there!
